Hotmail hates Google and blocks senders without warning!

I must admit, "Hotmail" never gave me a warm feeling. In fact I only use it to have a "Windows Live ID". In the last days I got several complaints from hotmail-users not receiving necessary mails. I checked some of their email-settings and BINGO! Several domains were listed in their "Blocked senders" …

Short term solution:

  1. Login to your Hotmail/Live Mail account and browse to your Inbox
  2. Go to the Options (Upper Right corner) and select "More Options" in the dropdown menu.
  3. Under "Junk e-mail" you’ll find the "Safe and blocked senders", navigate further to the "Blocked senders" and clear that list!
  4. Regularly come back and check the blocked sender list because Microsoft fills it up automatically!

So after doing that I made sure my own domain was added in the "Safe sender" list. I also tryed to put "@gmail.com" to the safe senders … but then hotmail gave me an error message:
"That domain can’t be added to the safe senders list." !!!

I know that hotmail and gmail are competitors, but this is scandalous! No wonder people are starting to hate Microsoft.

Long term solution:

  1. Use Gmail and register for free!
