Sharepoint and UrlScan Tool don’t mix!

Today, after 3 weeks of (well deserved ) holiday, I noticed that I couldn’t reach my custom developped SharePoint webservice anymore on a test-environment.

After searching some time, I discovered the MS UrlScan Security Tool had been installed which blocked all calls to the webservice and simply returned a 404 because the url contained a “.” character in the path to the webservice asmx.

You’ll find numerous posts online about difficulties with UrlScan and SharePoint installed together, just don’t mix them

Facebook RSS Feeds

With the new layout of Facebook it is harder to keep track of all things that happen. The facebook “news” is divided into “Top News” and “Most Recent”.
But what if you want to keep track of Facebook status updates of your friends OUTSIDE facebook?

Facebook has a number of RSS feeds available, but not all are listed in the FaceBook interface.

Here is a list of the facebooks’ RSS feeds I am aware of:

Your own status updates:
http://www.new.facebook.com/feeds/status.php?id=[ID]&viewer=[ID]&key=[KEY]&format=rss20
Your notifications:
http://www.facebook.com/feeds/notifications.php?id=[ID]&viewer=[ID]&key=[KEY]&format=rss20
Your friend statuses:
http://www.facebook.com/feeds/friends_status.php?id=[ID]&key=[KEY]&format=rss20

But what about the [ID] and [KEY] Field?

You can find these 2 values easily by going to your facebook profile:

First go to your notifications and click to see all your notifications:

Secondly, click on the subscribe link on the right:

You now get a new page witch will list the [ID] and [KEY] field in the address toolbar of your brower. These 2 fields remain the same for all Facebook RSS feeds.

You can now add these URLs to your favorite RSS reader. Google Reader for example.

Onze bouw is opgeleverd!

Vorige week was het spannend uitkijken naar het moment van voorlopige oplevering van onze bouw. Deze is erg vlot verlopen! Hier en daar zijn er nog wat kleinigheden die opgelost moeten worden.

Inmiddels zijn we druk bezig om onze verhuis voor te bereiden, maar ook om (misschien) al een eerste grondlaag (primer) aan te brengen in onze living, nog voor onze verhuis zaken eraan komen dit weekend …

Ook had ik zondag nog wat belangrijke zaken af te ronden voor het werk. Was direct een test of ons Internet al goed werkte

Mijn bureau-tafeltje zal nog wel wat groter worden
